“Of all the arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know how to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for color, and that you be a true poet. This last is essential.”

Alyssa Lyn Nickerson is a poet & painter with global roots and eclectic vision. A published poet, she has also engaged in gallery shows & dabbled in sculpture. She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and has also lived on both islands of New Zealand as well as a handful of American cities. She attended university in Boulder, Colorado & northern Virginia before accepting a scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she graduated in 2019. Betwixt haunted Spanish moss & prismatic palette, she became intoxicated by the visual arts and began to paint extensively. After graduating, she continued to paint, write, and incubate her imagination in Savannah, Georgia. In 2021, she met fellow painter Chris Fisher. In 2023, she and Fisher moved to Asheville, North Carolina, with her two dogs, three cats, three easels, and seven typewriters. They look forward to the adventures to come.
